Beginner

In Beginner Mode, while many of the most complex procedural rules are presented as non-penalty tips, the following core safety rules are still enforced and will result in penalties:

  • Failing to Stop: You will be penalized for not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign.
  • Speeding: Exceeding the speed limit will result in a penalty.
  • Collisions: Colliding with pedestrians, other vehicles, or poles is penalized.
  • Lane Keeping: Driving in the wrong lane on a two-way road will result in a penalty for failing to keep left.
  • Indicating: You will be penalized for failing to indicate your intention to turn.
  • Red Light Violation: Crossing an intersection while the traffic light is red is penalized.
  • Yielding: You will be penalized for failing to yield to pedestrians at a crossing or to other vehicles when required.
  • Seatbelt Usage: You will be penalized for driving forward on a public road without the seatbelt fastened.
  • Brake Locking: You will be penalized for locking the brakes, which causes a skid.
  • Engine RPM Management: Penalties for shifting gears at incorrect RPMs (either too early/laboring or too late/over-revving) are active, as the enableRpmMonitoring flag is not tied to the difficulty setting.

Intermediate

This tier introduces procedural checks and requires more awareness from the driver.

  • Mandatory 360° Observation: You must perform a full observation of your mirrors and blind spots before moving off from a standstill.
  • 3-Point Observation Before Turns: Before indicating for a turn, you must perform a 3-point check (e.g., check the right mirror, then the right blind spot before a right turn).
  • Starting in Gear: You will be penalized for starting the engine if the vehicle is not in neutral or park.
  • Hazard Light Usage: You are required to use hazard lights if your vehicle has a breakdown on the road.
  • Stationary Procedure Checks: Certain procedures are now checked to ensure they are performed only while the vehicle is completely stationary.
  • Gear Discipline (Speed Humps): You will be penalized for going over a speed hump in a gear higher than second.
  • Mini-Circle Discipline: You will be penalized for crossing over the center of a mini-circle.
  • AI Interaction: AI drivers will now hoot at you for incorrect actions, like hesitating too long at an intersection.

Advanced

This tier enforces the strictest K53 rules, simulating a formal driving test where timing and precise sequences are critical.

  • Parking Brake When Stationary: You must engage the parking brake if you are stopped for more than a few seconds.
  • Correct Ignition Sequence: You are required to turn the ignition key to the “On” position to check dashboard gauges and warning lights before starting the engine.
  • Rear-View Mirror Before Braking: You must check your rear-view mirror immediately before braking.
  • Brake-Then-Turn Sequence: The system checks that you brake to a safe speed and select the correct gear before you begin to execute a turn.
  • Static Steering: You will be penalized for turning the steering wheel while the vehicle is stationary.
  • Overtaking Signal Discipline: You must signal your intention to return to your lane after completing an overtake.
  • Indicator Timing: You will be penalized for activating your indicator either too early or too late before a turn.
  • Emergency Stop Test: The game may randomly trigger an emergency stop procedure that you must execute correctly.
  • Warning Triangles: If driving a heavy vehicle (isHuge), you are required to place warning triangles in a breakdown situation.
  • Random Vehicle Faults: A dashboard warning light may turn on randomly, and you will be penalized if you continue to drive to your set destination without addressing the fault at the auto repairs center.
